Ecosmart Fireplaces

We've had a lot of interest in our metho burning fireplaces - the flexibility of design ideas combined with the fact that you don't need a chimney or flue makes these fireplaces a versatile and stylish heating option.

The fireplaces hold 5 litres of metholated spirits. There's no wick, wood or smoke - so there's nothing to clean up. Because the fireplace produces very little carbon monoxide, you don't need a chimney which means none of the heat is being lost up the chimney as in a traditional fireplace or gas fire. The fireplace holds 5 litres of metho which will burn on 'full' for around 5-6 hours on the low setting it burns for nearly 20 hours. One fireplace happily heats a 40-50 sq/m room on the Sunshine Coast.

The fireplaces come as a stand-alone unit (we have one in the restaurant and cooking school) and can be matched to any colour you like. The great thing is you can move the fireplaces around to different rooms or take it with you when you move. We also have 4 fireboxes which are the actual burner - these were fitted into terracotta tubs and heat our outdoor courtyards. Ecosmart make a range of renovator fireplaces which architects or builders can incorporate into walls or niches.
